It's officially fall which means it's my favorite time of year.....Apple Picking Season! Growing up in northern California, I spent every fall of my childhood going apple picking at the local apple farms. I think by far they are my favorite memories from my youth. With this in mind I had a wonderful time photographing at Creasman Farms in North Carolina for WNC Magazine's September/October 2014 issue. The owners of the farm where incredibly generous with their time and helping get everything we needed photographed. All the picking at Creaman's is done by hand and they put a tremendous amount of care into their farm and what they grow. You can go and stroll through the beautiful mountainside orchard picking apples yourself. It surely reminded me of all the great time I spent at apple farms as a child. Blackberries...
It's summer now and those beautiful blackberries are popping up all over. This is talented Pastry Chef Sean Ehland from McCrady's here in Charleston. He does some wonderful dishes with these and many other fresh fruit throughout the year. He was a trooper for waking up first thing in the morning and making a trip outside of Charleston for a shoot at the blackberry farm!
